The Key to Building Lasting Success

Growth (noun): the process of increasing in amount, value, or importance

Everybody wants to make millions overnight—myself included. We see success stories on social media of someone selling a startup or a viral post that leads to fame and fortune. For a select few, this instant success happens. But for the rest of us, the surefire way to monetary success is through preparation, consistency, and patience.

As the late great Jack Bogle (founder of Vanguard) said, “Time is your friend; impulse is your enemy.” From a financial standpoint, this means you should focus on long-term growth rather than chasing quick gains. This can be accomplished by consistently investing in low-cost index funds that track market indexes like the S&P 500. While this may not lead to millions overnight, this strategy builds a solid foundation for the future.

Living Proof: Jalen Hurts

Growth isn’t limited to finances – it’s everywhere. Take Jalen Hurts, MVP of Super Bowl 59. Before his victory, Hurts faced many failures, from being benched in the college football championship to a crushing loss in Super Bowl 57 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite all of this he maintained a positive, forward-looking mindset preaching “You either win or you learn.” This approach helped him grow as both a player and a person.

His journey proves that self-belief, perseverance, and patience lead to growth. Hurts didn’t rush the process — he embraced everything about it.

When you reflect on your own life — whether striving for financial freedom, career growth, or personal development, remember that the beauty lies in the journey, not the destination. So, as you work towards your goals, remember that Growth. Takes. Time.
